What is one thing you love about yourself?
Without a doubt, my resilience. I feel it's a superpower that allows me to pivot when necessary and endure life's inevitable twists and turns. I know I will never crumble in the face of adversity because I will always find a way.
What does self-care look like to you on a free day?
A free day is a reboot day. Since I'm always on the go, I choose to reset and slow down. Start the day with a walk and cook a nice breakfast. Then it will include a swim in the ocean. Sweating is a must and tennis is my go-to. Topped off with some reading or drawing—I get inspiration for my pieces sporadically.
What is your favorite mantra?
"You set your own limits"—because nobody can ever dictate what your dreams can be, what goals you can achieve, or who you choose to be.
What’s one daily ritual you never skip?
My morning coffee. It's a quiet time for myself that allows me to have a moment of peace and enjoyment before any craziness of the day is thrown at me.
How do you unwind after a long day?
Honestly, I have a hard time decompressing and relaxing my brain. For so long I subscribed to the "hustle" and "boss girl mentality" where I felt if I wasn't working then my goals would not be achieved. Now I'm learning about balance and recovery. So I am still figuring this one out.
Do you pack for a trip in advance or save it for a last-minute scramble?
Definitely in advance! If I am packing the night before, I would consider that last-minute. Typically I start three days in advance and can't get it done without my packing cubes.
What’s your go-to wellness practice when you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed?
Hot pilates or tennis. Hot pilates is like combining a sauna with pilates and makes me sweat everything out. I feel renewed and full of energy after every class. Or tennis—because I can hit the ball as hard as possible to release my stress. Plus I love the challenge of it in addition to it being a great workout.
What role does fitness play in your self-care routine?
Fitness is only a spoke on the wheel of my self-care routine. It's all about balance—so physical health includes skin care, hair care, muscle care, etc. I also focus on emotional health, mental health, and the health of my social relationships.
Do you have a favorite skincare or body care product you can’t live without?
The Doc & Glo Big Money Glo Cooling Body Scrub has quickly become a must-have in my skin routine because it exfoliates without drying out my skin. Also, I don't go a day without using the Kalos Day Dream Moisturizer.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?
That it's okay to slow down, to rest and recover. You cannot give it your all if you're burned out.
Nikki E.’s story is a powerful reminder of the importance of balance, resilience, and taking time to recharge. Her journey proves that creativity thrives when paired with intentional self-care and reflection.
